We Had A Relaxing Night Away From The World
The Montague Hotel is part of the Red Carnation group that includes Egerton House Hotel where we enjoyed Dog Afternoon Tea! Situated right by Russell Square it’s perfectly located for dog owners & busy commuters alike! They offer a variety of services for pets including daycare & dog walking!
It was rather surreal, we walked into the lobby and everyone was excited about Amelia. From reception staff to waiters everyone came to say hello. Throughout our stay wherever Amelia went there was someone there to give her a little stroke. Perhaps most surprisingly the other guests all seemed to love dogs too! We had wonderful chats with many guests who were all so happy to see Amelia. My bag was sent to our room while I checked in & the charming door man took us up to our suite. The wonderful members of staff made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The room was set up perfectly, nothing could have been done any better.
The Junior Suite
We were of course really excited when the PR team had booked us into a Junior suite! A new experience for us! Amelia was in her element when we entered the room. She certainly knew it was something special. Did a little excited run around checking out everything like a child & then jumped onto the bed! All the little details made our stay so special. There was even a little switch next to the bed that turned on a light outside the door indicating whether you wanted privacy or room service! The light blue interiors were so soothing & our suite was located on the top floor overlooking the private gardens.
When ordering dinner from the room service menu I really struggled with all the wonderful choices! My top 3 choices were macaroni & cheese from the comfort food menu, salad bowl you could choose your own ingredients to & afternoon tea! I wish we would have stayed there longer so I could have tried more from the menu. I chose the afternoon tea as I’d never seen that on a room service menu before! Amelia ordered steak & mash from their Woof Menu! Other choices included waffles with sausages & toast with egg & cheese that Amelia had for breakfast!
It’s all the small details that make the Montague stand out. Their tea pot is state of the art! The loose leaf section doesn’t drop into the hot water until you press it down yourself in the room! Therefore guaranteeing the tea won’t be too strong or weak!
Subscription boxes have really boomed in popularity. I wanted to try one out for this hotel trip & thought long and hard which one I thought looked the most “me”. Having totally fallen in love with Latest in Beauty I was really excited that they agreed to send me one! They do special edition boxes, surprise boxes & you can also make your own! I actually got to pick 9 items myself! For this night away I wanted to pick relaxing things – two amazing facials I’ve always to try, a travel version of my go to cream cleanser, MorrocanOil in travel size, fun sparkly hair ties, eye cream & soothing foot scrub! Last but certainly not least I got a travel sized mini candle! Anyone who’s met me knows I am obsessed with candles! Almost all set for the perfect night away!
Antipodes is an amazing skincare company from New Zealand. They have innovative products that are certified vegetarian! I struggle with sensitive skin and my friend (& makeup artist) Tania Grier recommended Antipodes to me. I love everything about them from the way they smell to the instant results. After my relaxing bath I couldn’t get enough of the heavenly smelling hand & body cream. The Avocado Pear nourishing night cream is a new favourite of mine. Their products are so natural that their legendary Saviour Balm can be used on PAWS too! Amelia got a little pawdicure relaxation experience too!
I think it’s safe to say I am totally addicted to The Konjac Sponge Co! Their green clay sponge literally changed my life. I’ve grown to look forward to washing my face with a variety of their sponges. It’s such a soothing experience! Amelia uses their Pet Sponge, but while away for the night we didn’t know what to do as the sponges are quite delicate! We were thrilled that the company sent us a travel pack to take with us! This included a little bag you can hang your sponges in to dry & a airport friendly plastic case. I got to enjoy a relaxing mini facial with my facial sponge & Amelia’s Pet Sponge was substituted by their body one! Their Pure Konjac range is all the same material just different shapes & sizes.
Home Away From Home!
We instantly felt at home, every detail of our stay was perfect. We could never have imagined this hotel to be so incredible. The wonderful team working there welcomed us & treated us as dear friends even though we had only just met. The service they provided Amelia was so thorough you’d think she was an individually paying guest! I’ve never had such a wonderful stay, for any future special occasions I would fully trust The Montague.
