We Love Knightsbridge

A place we used to call home

Amelia at Red Valentino on Sloane Street

Amelia and I spent many years living in Knightsbridge. Underneath all the tourists and people dressed in their best for a day of shopping lays a hidden community. When we walk down Sloane Street we wave hello to the security guards by the front doors of lavish shops. We walk into stores just to ask how the sales staff are today. Hidden in between all the visitors is a community of neighbours who have grown close over the years.

Amelia with her favourite Harrods Green Man

As we used to live behind  Harrods it will be no surprise that the door men know us very well. Amelia is a particular favourite of Michael! He is a fan of spaniels he tells us! We couldn’t imagine walking past Harrods without allowing him to have a moment with Amelia. He was happy to take a photo for us with his dear Amelia and I promptly emailed it to him afterwards!

Outside Harrods

Dogs are no longer allowed inside Harrods since the closing of the pet kingdom however as you all must know by now Amelia sneaks in with me everywhere! Harrods is no exception!

We are lucky to call many of the staff there dear friends after many years of knowing them. Of course the staff we talk to know Amelia is with me – it is our little secret. Hiding in her Sleepypod I simply look like I’ve come straight from the gym!

While the Harrods department store won’t allow dogs, all luxury boutiques welcome dogs. Whether you want to visit Chanel, Cartier or Boodles don’t worry! Your dog will be most welcome.

Flowers

A little place of floral heaven! The most beautiful flowers come from Neill Strain Floral Couture! Their amazing flowers will blow you away. The florists there are world class and incredibly helpful. Each Valentines day a heart shaped entrance of roses appears outside their wonderful boutique! If you are in the neighbourhood we recommend you pop in!

Our favourite place in London – L’eto !

Dogs are not allowed inside however the wonderful team working there will be delighted to have you sit outside with your dog! They have always been happy to bring Amelia water and a puppachino!

Amelia and I knew the owner without realising for a long time! He has a little dog and we had met in Battersea Park. I was standing outside waiting for my take away latte and a friendly Russian man came up to me asking if I recognised him! I went beet red in embarrassment over not realising it before!

A wonderful team of managers, waiters & barristers work there. A recent round of promotions has seen some of our favourite staff members move to Brompton Road and Soho branches. However those who remain are simply wonderful. The hardest part about moving was to no longer stop at L’eto everyday on our way to Hyde Park.

Hey there beautiful

Cutest lunch date

Their menu is divine. The best place for breakfast, lunch or cake. Some of our favourite things to order are:

Blueberry & Strawberry pancakes

Borsch Soup

Spiced Ceasar Salad

Green Cake

Ginger & Honey shot

Matcha Latte (video below it’s amazing!)

Hyde Park time!

Now all the tourists are at the big Starbucks on Brompton Road. When I say all the tourists, I truly mean it. It is the busiest and slowest Starbucks in all of London.

Don’t worry! There is a hidden Starbucks in Knightsbridge station right by Hyde Park! And better yet! Instead of crossing the busy road to the park, you can use the underground station as a tunnel directly in and out of the park.

I love to grab a Starbucks and head to the park with Amelia, so if you are like me and love the sound of that head into the station!

Pure joy being back in Hyde Park

If you couldn’t tell, we are incredibly home sick and ready to move back.

Love,

Two eternal Knightsbridge residents

Eva & Amelia ♥

Your blog makes us wish we could jump the pond and be proper Cavaliers living up to our true British roots.

Your little Amelia is so very endearing! How it does a heart good to see how she enjoys the generous spirits of the British people. I’ve traveled extensively, but never had the good fortune to take my Cavalier with me (we did go EVERYWHERE else). I’d love to visit GB, and especially Crufts where my girl’s grandsire was the second highest pointed dog ever. She’s gone now but she’d have enjoyed the land of her ancestors.
