What could be better on a sleepless night than baking cookies?
We got out of bed in pyjamas and stumbled into the kitchen with all our hopes and dreams relying on if we had the ingredients to bake! Purplebone posted a cookie recipe this week for both humans & dogs on Instagram and this inspired us!
Amelia took to her role as head chef like a duck to water! For a VIDEO of our baking scroll right down – a 3 minute video awaits!
Scrambling the ingredients together
- 1 1/2 cups of almond flour
- 1/2 cup of dried blueberries [Purplebone used dried strawberries but Amelia loves blueberries]
- 2 organic eggs
- 4 table spoons of coconut flakes
- 1 table spoon of melted coconut oil
I was lucky to have heart shaped cookie cutters at the ready! They came from here!
And the cutest ever pastel coloured measuring cups came from here!
It actually turned out to be really easy! We mixed the ingredients together! then made it into a ball and rolled it out! Pressed down our little shapes and popped them into the oven for 15 minutes at 165 degrees!
When they came out, they weren’t actually too hot. I had one first – I didn’t expect to like them if I’m entirely honest, but it was actually amazing and surprisingly sweet for a sugar free recipe!
Amelia was up next! Her face on the video after her first bite said it all! She thought they were the best tasting cookies she’s ever had I think. Would be so handy if she could actually talk but based on her facial expressions this was my conclusion! 😉
Now the main event: Our baking video!
Thank you Purplebone for posting such a great recipe! We had a blast making them. Made our Friday night just that much more fun! We can’t wait to have some left over cookies with our morning coffee!
Happy Saturday everyone!
